“Life is for living and none of the last 50 years would ever of been the same without the undying love and support of my wife Jennifer. As we grow old together, I thank her for being at the centre of my universe”
Keith's Bio
Born in Hampshire in 1942 Keith was schooled in each tier of the tripartite system – Secondary Modern, Technical and Grammar. He was further educated at St. Luke’s College, Exeter and the University of Sussex, and entered the teaching profession and rose to become the Area Advisor for East Kent and Senior Lecturer in School Management at ChristChurch University College, Canterbury.
His Leisure time was largely spent on stage. As a trained tenor soloist he played leading parts in 26 Musical shows, directed 5, and performed in countless concerts and cadarets. Retired and incapacitated by M.E. he took up painting in 2002 and has never looked back.
Painting
“Painting is my escape, my sanity, my freedom and my passion. Somewhere in my genes there is a creative streak which I have inherited from those before me and have passed down to those behind me. Expressed through a brush, I paint what I can see rather than what I imagine and as result consider myself to be a ‘copy artist’. Patience is a virtue and in my case there is a limit! No one painting takes much more than a few hours, or days at a stretch, and this is reflected in my painting style and the size of portfolio…”
Books & Publications
“Any adversity to reading and writing as child was soon straightened out in my late teens as I embarked on an academic education. With a career in teaching ahead or me, the basics soon developed into a competent literary style leading to a Master of Arts degree in my late 40s. Today, my writing is a journey based on personal experience. Reflecting back on my life, I have lived through a period where the changes in culture, people and technology have been both fascinating and frightening. With nearly eighty years under my belt, I hope in some way my view of the world during this time will be enlightening and interesting to someone.”
